The museum showcases the roots of Cordilleran provinces. Also, a tribute to the indigenous people in the municipalities of Nueva Era, Dumalneg, Carasi and Adams.

Tabacalera Lifestyle Center, Gen. Luna cor. Llanes Sts., 2900 Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. Admission: PhP40 for adults and PhP30 for children aged 7-12 years old. Open daily, 8 AM – 5 PM.

The reason why I had my lastest visit to Taoid Museum last November was because of a photo challenge for a VIP Ticket for Tan-Ok Festival.

Took many shots inside the museum and here are some of my favorites which I also edited with the VSCO mobile app.

#TheIlocanoAdventurers goes to Sapat & Sulbec, Pasuquin

Let the adventure begins!

As we all know, aside from Pasuquin having the sea nearby, it also has a lot of undiscovered natural places such as majestic waterfalls.

#TheIlocanoAdventurers are welcoming 2017 with new adventures already. And, this time we decided to visit 2 places:

1st destination: SAPAT FALLS, PASUQUIN

7:30-8:00 AM - Meeting point at Pasuquin Terminal (near GMW)
We got to meet our new mates when it comes to adventures.
Fare: Php 25.00/each

9:00 AM - Arrival at Pasuquin Market
We met other adventurers who joined us in our outing. We also haggled with the tricycles to bring us to Sapat.
If you're planing to rent a tricycle roundtrip, it will cost you Php 500.00/tricycle (good for 2 persons only).
Some of our companions had their car and motorcycle so only 2 had to take the tricycle. But, one of the drivers suggested to rent his motorcycle instead. We rented his motorcycle for Php 300.00 + gas.
It's more convinient that way and cheaper!

10:30 AM - Arrival at Brgy. Sapat near PAF Airbase.
The road is not easy for it is a little bit upland. So watch out for your breaks!

As we arrived at Sapat, we had to register at the Brgy. Hall. There are no fees.

The way to Sapat falls is a little bit tricky.
You have to take a right turn before you reach the PAF airbase so I recommend to ask for assistance or if you're a risk taker, enjoy getting lost like we did but eventually we found our way.

Once we arrived this road, we always took right turn until we arrive where you should leave your car/motors.

Go downhill until you see a small river the turn left. You'll see the path leading you to the falls.
The trek only takes 5-10 minutes.
Level of difficulty: 1/10.

Unfortunately, the falls didn't have a lot of water. Still, we managed to enjoy its cold water.

12:00 AM - Snack + Swimming time

We had to regain our energy for our next destination and get refreshed to beat the heat!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Sapat we went straigh to Puttot. It's along the way and very near to Sapat so we had to take the chance and visit it anyway.

Once you enter Sapat road, look for the only store/residents for information.
The way is easy to follow.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2nd Destination:  RIVER WATERS OF PUTTOT, BRGY. SULBEC, PASUQUIN

2:00 PM - Arrival at Puttot, Sulbec

It takes around 20-30 minutes of trekking.
Level of diffculty: 3/10 (There are instances where you have to hold on to roots to avoid falling down)

Enjoy the view!

4:00 PM - Back to Laoag

Thank you adventurers for this awesome trip!

#TheIlocanoAdventurers goes to Surong Falls, Pasuquin

Looking for a budget friendly around Ilocos Norte?
Join #TheIlocanoAdventurers on facebook and let's go!

Sharing our spontaneous adventure last monday (holiday) in Surong falls, Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte.

Pasuquin is one of Ilocos Norte's municipality and it has a lot of waterfalls.
In Brgy. Surong there is a truly breathtaking view of a majestic waterfalls.

HOW TO GET THERE?

From Laoag, take the jeep going to Pasuquin or bus going to Pagudpud. Travel time is around 30-45 minutes.
Then, stop in the plaza and hire a tricycle to get there.
In case you have a private car, take a right-turn going to the market and go east until you see this.
From the center of Pasuquin, it takes less than 15 minutes to get to the drop-off point.
Some parts of the way are rough road.

Just ask the residents if you are going in the right way.

Welcome to Brgy. Surong!
Keep straight until you can see an entrance in you left side. There is no signage so it is better to ask or to have a guide.

So let the trekking begin!

First you will se a farming sight until you get here.

Trekking time is about 15-20 minutes. It is a very easy trek. Just be careful with the slippery rocks.

Don't forget to bring water and waterproof gears.

And these are some views/mini falls along the way.

The hardest part are like this only.

And viola! Amazing right?

This is the tallest waterfalls I have seen so far here in Ilocos Norte. Maybe it is about 30 ft. tall (not sure at all).

We were lucky to witness this color of the water during rainy days.

Please be careful when diving because there are rocks in some areas.

And enjoy the cold water.

Take pictures for good memories.

Plus, there is small a mini cave beside the waterfalls.
Sagada feels?

It is deep and has a wide area for swimming.

Here is a diving area

This is probably one of my favorite waterfalls so far next to Avis falls here in Ilocos Norte

Bring some friends and enjoy God’s creation.

And lastly, please respect our mother nature and don’t liter.

Thank you Ilocos Norte for always surprising us with your beauty.

Love,
The Ilocano Adventurers
